New Information About the Rogue Heir of Elethorn
We got new information about The Rogue Heir of Elethorn, Hero Collection pack today in a post by Polygon. In the article we get some high-res images that showcase some more of the artwork of the new Hero pack. The artwork has been updated since we last saw it. The images, may also hint at the revelation of the next Quest Pack.
The Hero pack appears to be available for pre-order now on Amazon, and Hasbro Pulse. The shipping date on Pulse is stated as December 1. The Polygon article gives October for a retail release date.
Let’s have a closer look at some of the product images:
So far what we know is that this new hero will add some new uses to one of the most useless weapons in the game: the dagger. It’s boasted that this new hero will move through crowded areas on the board more easily and as a result attack more often with its combination of equipment cards: the Dagger and Bandolier.
The ability cards are still hidden, but we have a much clearer view of the character’s stats and the story card included:
The stats were a bit of a topic for debate when the Rogue Heir was leaked, the image back then was grainy and difficult to read. Now we can clearly see: 1 Attack Dice, 2 Defend Dice, 5 Body Points and 4 Mind Points.
A Hint at the Next Quest Pack
The part that really interests me though is the included story card:
The top paragraph is a little difficult to read, I was able to bump up the contrast on my screen (not pictured), to see most of what it says more clearly:
Your royal highness,
As the bravest of warriors and the heir to the kingdom, of Elethorn, it is critical that you are made aware of a serious threat to the Realm and your family. We know that you have sought independence from your mother, Queen Terrellia, as you traveled the world this past twelvemonth, far from your life of wealth and privilege. Now the Queen,, our beloved monarch, has requested that you return from your journey forthwith. The Seer of the Court has used psychic powers and celestial reckoning to locate you. Our fleetest Windcutter is standing by to transport you to the palace without delay.
Both our kingdom and your family are in grave peril. The Queen’s decision to honor our defence treaty with the king of the Realm by sending our most courageous heroes to his aid has riven a deep chasm in our populace. The Council has broken down into opposing factions, and there are reports of deadly skirmishes breaking out in the capital streets.
Even with the contrast up, some of it was still a bit difficult to make out, so I hope there aren’t any mistakes in my retyping of it. The second half, I’ll leave for you to read from the image, that portion was large enough to make out most of it unaided.
The story card for the Rogue Heir of Elethorn gives some glimpse into what might be the next big quest pack released: The Elf Quest Pack – The Mage of the Mirror!
The Rogue Heir of Elethorn’s story card details some strife in the kingdom of Elethorn, the home of the Elves. This is in line with the story of the Mage of the Mirror quest. In the Mage of the Mirror, a civil war rages in the kingdom of the Elves. The sister of the Elven Queen, Sinestra, is seduced by Chaos and kidnaps the niece of the Queen.
The new story card gives more of a backstory to this quest pack. In the story card, it is detailed that Sinestra has taken the Rogue Heir’s sister, Millandriell hostage.
More on the backstory of the Rogue Heir of Elethorn can be seen in the new lore video, featuring the voice of Stephen Baker.
